According to the Federal Reserve, 40 percent of adults are unable to cover an unexpected expense of $400 dollars without borrowing or selling something, and people from all income levels are only a transaction away from a potentially devastating financial crisis.
The lack of savings and equal access to quality financial products and services in underserved communities leaves vulnerable populations particularly ill equipped to weather unexpected emergencies and achieve lasting financial security.
AARP Foundation and Chase invite you to attend a solutions-focused forum addressing the need to increase the financial health and resiliency of underserved communities and the marginalized populations that reside in them. By bringing together community leaders, influencers and change-makers, AARP Foundation aims to identify solutions that are not only successful, and have the potential to be replicated and scaled.
You’ll hear remarks from author and award-winning nationally syndicated columnist Michelle Singletary. Following, AARP Foundation President Lisa Marsh Ryerson will moderate a panel discussion among leaders from area organizations that address the needs of vulnerable individuals.
